In a recent memo to all school districts, State Superintendent Dr. Carey Wright strongly recommended that days missed due to inclement weather be made-up to give students as much time as possible to prepare for state assessments, especially the third grade summative assessment. The Aberdeen School District will comply and make-up the three days schools were closed in Aberdeen. Aberdeen students will report for classes on April 6, May 2, and May 22. The last day for students will be Friday, May 22.
With schools open on April 6, May 2, and May 22, the Aberdeen School District will avoid extending the 2014-15 school year beyond the Memorial Day Holiday on May 25.
