The Mission of the Counseling Department at Aberdeen Highs School is to provide a comprehensive counseling program that attends to the personal/social, academic, and career preparation/college planning needs of all students. Our goal is to promote a commitment to life-long learning, personal, and academic growth and to aid students in becoming responsible, culturally aware, and productive members of society. The school counselor will work in partnership with other educators, parents/guardians, community contacts to support students.

Services include group and individual counseling, small group counseling, classroom guidance, academic support, crisis intervention, consultation, collaboration, referrals, career and college planning, and student and family advocacy.

Belief: I believe that every student has the ability to succeed in one way or another. Each student is unique and has his/hers on strengths that he/she brings to the table.
