Meet Mrs. Tonya Lovelady...
My name is Tonya Lovelady and I teach 7th grade/Cyber Foundations I. I was born in Aberdeen, MS and raised in Hatley, MS where I graduated in 1992. I have 3 children and 1 grandchild. I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 31 years.
I have been teaching Cyber Foundations I for the last 7 years. Before teaching Cyber Foundations I. I have taught 7th Grade Reading, 6th Grade Science, and 7th Grade ELA. I graduated from Mississippi University for Women in 2011 with my BS in Elementary Education. I have concentrations in ELA, and History as well as ICT I and Cyber Foundations I. I graduated from the University of Phoenix in 2020 with my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction. I am currently thinking of working on my National Board Certification.
I decided to become a teacher because I love working with young people and watching the “lightbulb” go off and see the look of accomplishment when they finally master something that they thought they were not capable of doing. I feel that I learn as much from my students as they learn from me on some days. This is my 12th year at Belle Shivers Middle School and I couldn’t imagine working anywhere else or with a greater set of people than I work with now.
