It is homecoming week throughout the district, and although students were dressed in character, learning is still taking place. Mr. Pearson's Foundation of Algebra class had their Functions Skittles activity today which involved scooping skittles from cups using different size โscoopsโ.
These scoops represented varying rates of change. Students, after rotating with their scoops, compared the graphs to every other group on the board. They noted that while each graph had negative slopes, they changed at different rates based on the scoop sizes. They discussed how their findings could be applied to measuring data in businesses tracking profits.
We are proud of our students and teachers throughout the district as they chase that "A".
Congratulations to ASD's Employee of the Week Jennifer Sykes. We appreciate your hard work and dedication throughout the Aberdeen School District. Ms. Sykes received a certificate, goodie bag, and cafeteria voucher from the district.
