October 10 is World Mental Health Day, a time to raise awareness about the importance of emotional well-being for everyone. This year’s observance reminds us that mental health is just as important as physical health.
At Aberdeen School District, we encourage students, staff, and families to take time for self-care, check in with one another, and reach out for support when needed. Together, we can help reduce stigma and create a supportive community where everyone feels seen, valued, and heard.
Let’s make mental health a priority—today and every day. 💙

🚨 Real-Life Lesson in Health Class 🚨
Mrs. Nichols’ students took on the “Drunk Goggles Challenge,” attempting everyday tasks with vision and balance impaired. At first, it seemed funny, but the goggles showed just how dangerous alcohol’s effects really are.
The takeaway: alcohol abuse impacts judgment, coordination, and safety. Powerful lesson, well learned! 💡👏

Mrs. Borgioli’s SREB and Essentials English classes at AHS recently completed a meaningful 9/11 Remembrance Project. Students researched powerful images from the day and the aftermath of recovery, then wrote original poems inspired by those images.
This project gave students an opportunity to honor the lives lost, reflect on the resilience of our nation, and express their thoughts through creative writing.
We are proud of their thoughtful work in commemorating this important day in history.

Ms. Oliver’s Nutrition and Wellness students stepped into the world of dining etiquette and table setting, learning practical skills they can carry into real-life occasions. From setting a table correctly to folding fancy napkins with style, the class added an elegant touch to their lesson. To keep things fun, students also designed creative memes highlighting dining dos and don’ts in a humorous way.
👏 A special thank you to Mrs. Latasha Hubbard for letting us borrow her napkins to make the lesson complete!
