Hello BSMS 8th Grade Parents: We will be having an 8th grade parent meeting Thursday, May 13th at 5 p.m. This meeting will cover the upcoming 8th grade completion events. We will send the zoom link via text message only.

Good afternoon, BSMS Parents! BSMS students will have the opportunity to participate in a pep rally/fun day tomorrow! Students who plan to attend school tomorrow should have already signed up via the Google form sent by their teacher. Students may dress down, but under these stipulations: No holes in jeans, no spaghetti strap shirts, no crop tops, no slides (shoes without strap), and no hoodies. Students who do not regularly attend school on Monday, MUST SIGN IN & will only be released to a parent or person listed in SAM if they will be a car rider. Students may also ride the bus (please make sure your child signed up via the Google form). The buses will run the normal time tomorrow. Students may also bring money for snow cones if the weather permits!

ATTN BSMS PARENTS: BSMS Distance Learners will take the 2nd i-Ready diagnostic assessment on Friday, February 5, 2020 at Belle-Shivers Middle School. All students will test on their own Chromebook with their Homeroom Teacher. Make sure the Chromebook is fully charged, and remind your child to bring it with them for testing. Students will take their assessments from 8:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Please encourage students to do their best work, to get plenty of rest each night, and to eat a good breakfast before they come. Lunch will be provided. On February 5th, students should report to school at 7:30 a.m. and report to their homeroom class. Students in grades 4 - 6 should enter the Belle building, and students in grades 7- 8 should enter the Shivers building (on Franklin St.).

ATTN BSMS PARENTS: BSMS Hybrid Students will take the 2nd reading and math i-Ready diagnostic assessment during the week of February 7, 2020 from 8:00 - 10:00 a.m. each morning. All students will test on their own Chromebook. Make sure the Chromebook is fully charged and remind your child to bring it with them for testing. Please encourage students to do their best work, to get plenty of rest each night, and to eat a good breakfast on test days.

ATTN BSMS PARENTS: We are experiencing internet issues on campus. Therefore, teachers aren’t able to sign in to Zoom sessions. We will notify you all when the internet is back up. This is a good time for students to catch up on missing assignments, or review what they have learned this week. Thank you for your patience.

BSMS parents, Tryouts for the Aberdeen High School softball team will be held January 19th and 20th from 1:30 - 3:30 p.m. at Aberdeen High School . Students must submit a completed packet and have a current physical form on file. Please see Coach K. Davis to sign up, and students may email Coach Chapman at echapman@asdms.us to receive a packet.

Good morning, BSMS Parents: Thanksgiving Break begins Monday, November 23 and ends Friday, November 27, 2020. All students will begin virtual classes for the week of November 30 - December 4, 2020. Please ensure that your child attends Zoom sessions and completes all assignments during the virtual week of classes. Attendance will be taken via Zoom. Hybrid students will return to school during the week of December 7, 2020. I hope and pray everyone has a safe, relaxing break.

BSMS PARENTS: At BSMS, we are celebrating students who exhibited good behavior 1st Nine Weeks & those who scored Level 3, 4, or 5 on their enCase assessments!! Students who did NOT receive a discipline referral 1st nine weeks, will receive a “Goody Bag”. Students who scored Level 3 on enCase will receive ONE dress down day pass. Students who scored level 4/5 will receive a TWO-day dress down pass! Good News: If your child is a distance learner, we are saving their dress down pass for when/IF they return! Dress down guidelines: No holes in jeans, no spaghetti strap shirts, no hoodies, & no slides. Shoes MUST have a strap on the back. We are so proud of our scholars!!

BSMS PARENTS: If you or your child purchased an Aberdeen Bulldog mask from BSMS, they will be distributed today and tomorrow to the hybrid students. If you purchased masks for a DL student, please come by the Shivers office from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. to pick up your mask(s).
