Good Afternoon BSMS Parents:
We will have our first Family & Community Engagement (F.A.C.E.) Meeting tomorrow, August 26th at 5:30 p.m. via Google Meet.
The F.A.C.E. meeting will consist of Tips for students using Google Meet, Google email, navigating Google Classroom, and expectations for virtual learning.
We will send the Google meet link about 30 minutes before the meeting begins via text message.
ATTN BSMS PARENTS:
As we prepare to transition to virtual learning, we will have a device pick-up Friday, August 20th from 8:00 a.m. -3:15 p.m.
Device pick-up is ONLY for the students who haven’t turned in their device checkout form or received their Chromebook this school year.
The location for device pick-up is 518 W. Vine Street (The Belle Building).
Good morning BSMS Parents,
Aberdeen School District has required students and faculty to wear masks/face coverings indoors and on the school bus. As COVID-19 cases are rising, we are constantly having to reinforce the mask requirement by telling students to wear their masks properly.
We are asking parents to speak with their children about the importance of wearing a mask properly indoors.

If your child needs to have a change of transportation for the day, please send a note with your signature to the school with your student. Only in cases of an emergency, will we allow a phone call to suffice for changing the transportation for the day.
During arrival & dismissal times when buses are loading and unloading, please do not drive down North Franklin Street. The morning bus arrival time is 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. and afternoon dismissal is 2:50 p.m. to 3:10 p.m.

ATTN BSMS PARENTS:
As we’re gearing up for the first day of school, this is just a reminder that BSMS students are required to wear uniforms.
•Uniform bottoms should be black, khaki, or navy.
•Uniform shirts should be white, black, or navy. Hoodies are not allowed and jackets should be unzipped at all times during the school day.
•Slides are not allowed and shoes should have a strap on the back to be worn at all times.
•Hats, bandannas, and headscarves are not allowed.

BSMS will transition to a “Drive-Thru Open House” on Tuesday, August 3rd from 4:00-6:00 p.m.
4th-6th grade parents can pick up student schedules on North Franklin St.
7th-8th grade parents can pick up student schedules on Project St.(behind the Shivers parking lot).

IT’S THAT TIME!!!
The AHS Cheerleaders will be hosting their Mini Cheer Camp starting on August 14! This is a GREAT opportunity for your little ones to come out and participate with the High School Cheerleaders!
Camp will take place on the Saturdays of August 14, 21, and 28 from 8:00am-12:00pm in the Roy E. Hazzle Gymnasium. This is for Grade Levels K-6 ONLY!
Camp fee is a one time payment of $30 due on the first day of camp. This will take care of the t-shirt that your child will wear for the performance at 3 HOME GAMES DURING 3rd QUARTER!!

Hello BSMS 8th Grade Parents:
We will be having an 8th grade parent meeting Thursday, May 13th at 5 p.m. This meeting will cover the upcoming 8th grade completion events. We will send the zoom link via text message only.
Good afternoon, BSMS Parents!
BSMS students will have the opportunity to participate in a pep rally/fun day tomorrow! Students who plan to attend school tomorrow should have already signed up via the Google form sent by their teacher.
Students may dress down, but under these stipulations: No holes in jeans, no spaghetti strap shirts, no crop tops, no slides (shoes without strap), and no hoodies.
Students who do not regularly attend school on Monday, MUST SIGN IN & will only be released to a parent or person listed in SAM if they will be a car rider.
Students may also ride the bus (please make sure your child signed up via the Google form). The buses will run the normal time tomorrow.
Students may also bring money for snow cones if the weather permits!

BSMS Distance Learners will take the 2nd i-Ready diagnostic assessment on Friday, February 5, 2020 at Belle-Shivers Middle School. All students will test on their own Chromebook with their Homeroom Teacher. Make sure the Chromebook is fully charged, and remind your child to bring it with them for testing. Students will take their assessments from 8:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Please encourage students to do their best work, to get plenty of rest each night, and to eat a good breakfast before they come. Lunch will be provided. On February 5th, students should report to school at 7:30 a.m. and report to their homeroom class. Students in grades 4 - 6 should enter the Belle building, and students in grades 7- 8 should enter the Shivers building (on Franklin St.).

BSMS Hybrid Students will take the 2nd reading and math i-Ready diagnostic assessment during the week of February 7, 2020 from 8:00 - 10:00 a.m. each morning. Please encourage students to do their best work, to get plenty of rest each night, and to eat a good breakfast on test days.
