On behalf of the Aberdeen School District, we would like to congratulate Belle-Shivers Middle School and Aberdeen High School on being recognized as Military Star Schools by Governor Tate Reeves.
Belle-Shivers Principal Kennetra Smith, Counselor Kashia Dowden, Aberdeen High School Principal Tracy Fair, District Contact Lt. Col. Michael Goolsby, and Superintendent Dr. Andrea Pastchal-Smith had the privilege to attend the Military Star School Recognition Program with the Mississippi Department of Education and Governor Tate Reeves.
There were a total of 61 schools named the inaugural Military Star Schools in the state. Governor Tate Reeves established the Military Star Schools program in February 2022 through Executive Order 1561.
