ASD Administrative Assistant Annual Meeting 2023

The Administrative Assistants of Aberdeen School District had their Annual Professional Development meeting in the Board Room. The meeting was both informative and fun. Accounting Assistant ZaNarrious Graham welcomed everyone, followed by CFO Latasha Straughter-Campbell introduced the speaker. Yulanda Austin from The Excellence Group started with a fun icebreaker before speaking on accounting procedures. Lunch was amazing, and Communications Director Tasha Smith led a fun fact activity. Accounting Department updates were given, with Ms. Jennifer Dobbs presenting the Federal Purchasing speech and Kimberly Lenoir presenting for the Operations Department. The meeting ended with Sharon D. Gladney's presentation on customer service and phone etiquette.

In recognition of breast cancer awareness month, the team donned pink attire.

We would like to express our gratitude for the indispensable role played by Administrative Assistants in the Aberdeen School District. They not only represent the face of ASD but also perform a range of duties to assist Principals and Administrators with administrative and clerical tasks. These include learning about school organization, operations, policies, and objectives, and interpreting, applying, and explaining laws, codes, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. They are responsible for ensuring smooth and efficient office operations, maintaining a variety of records, logs, and files, and serving as intermediaries between administrators, faculty, staff, students, parents, and the public. These skills represent just a small portion of what our Administrative Assistants possess, as they are responsible for much more, and possess numerous other skills that aren't mentioned here. We appreciate their hard work and unwavering dedication to the Aberdeen School District.
