With winter weather forecasted later this week, the leadership team at Aberdeen School District is taking proactive measures to ensure the safety of our students, staff, and families. We are closely monitoring the situation, consulting with the National Weather Service, collaborating with local officials, and evaluating road conditions to make informed decisions regarding school schedules. Here’s what we evaluate when making weather-related decisions: - Road conditions to determine if buses and cars can travel safely - Current accumulation of snow or ice - Rate and expected duration of precipitation - Parking lot and sidewalk conditions at our schools - Weather predictions and advisories from the National Weather Service When will you know? We understand that families need timely updates to make necessary arrangements. If changes to the school schedule are required, we will notify families and staff as early as possible—either by 7:00 p.m. the night before or by 6:00 a.m. the following morning if a decision needs to be made overnight.
