🎓 Aberdeen School District Among the Best in Mississippi! 🎓
The Mississippi Department of Education announced that the state’s 2024–25 graduation rate reached 90.8%, surpassing the national rate of 86.6%. Even more encouraging, the statewide dropout rate dropped to 7%, reflecting real progress across Mississippi.
We are proud to share that the Aberdeen School District ranks #6 in the state for the highest graduation rate and #4 in Mississippi for the lowest dropout rate!
These results don’t happen by accident. They are the product of high expectations, strong leadership, dedicated teachers, supportive families, and students who are committed to finishing strong.
Aberdeen, this is something to celebrate. Our scholars are crossing the stage ready for what’s next, and that speaks volumes.

Last night’s playoff loss in Ruleville was not the ending our Ladydawgs hoped for, but one game does not define a season, and it certainly does not define this team.
These young ladies represented Aberdeen with heart, grit, and determination all year long. They showed up, put in the work, battled through challenges, and competed with pride every time they stepped on the floor. That is what truly matters.
Championship programs are built on resilience. You learn, you grow, and you come back stronger. The scoreboard may not have gone our way, but the character, teamwork, and effort displayed all season are something to be proud of.

Authors would have the opportunity to set up a booth and talk with students about:
✏️ How they wrote their book
📖 The publishing process
🎓 The steps, challenges, and costs along the way
The event will take place between March 4–6, between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. (flexible based on availability).
If you know a local author who may be interested, please share their contact information with us, or feel free to pass this message along. Thank you for helping us support literacy and connect our students with real-world writers! 💙🐾
